Product Briefing 

It is a digitizing mail service, the business has locations across the USA, as I remember it was 51 store, running with “operators”, the users can sign up and purchase a virtual mailbox number, the store gets the physical mail for that user scans it and uploads it is content to the user’s account. 

 The mail types supported are envelopes, paper, boxes, and more. The user can have access to the content anytime on their account and can actually save the content.. They did have limited space that they could upgrade for more storage to keep their mailbox. The users also have the option to ship the mail to any address in the world. 

The software integrated a payment gateway and shipping partners to facilitate the payment and easy shipment of the mail..

Features I Shipped 

1- Operational Features

  • OCR, it helped scanning the envelope or shipping label to quickly assign the correct mailbox, speeding the operation of operators as they needed to read the shipping label, and manually enter the username and mailbox to assign. 
  • Enhancing UX for operators to manage the store incoming and outgoing mail
  • Allowing store to add multi location option 

2- Privacy & Additional Mail Management Options: 

  • User feature to not scan the envelope content unless they requested  

3- Shipping Features

  • Integrating a shipping partner
    • Integrating supported shipping options allowing the user to choose between shipping services for the convenient cost. 

4- Subscription 

  • Allowing addons for extra storage for users 
  • Store payouts
  • Admin dashboard to manage revenue 

5- User Management 

  • Managing stores through activate and suspend options 
  • Managing user accounts for easier support requests without referring to the development teams

Challenges 

It was definitely a challenge as it was my first PO job, I’ve learned stakeholder management as they were plenty, I got the hang of collaborating with the scrum team, better user story writing, gained UX knowledge, learned about APIs, integrations and more.
